The meaning of being Irish - A guide to our own unique little sayings
So, as some of you know, I was born and bred in the Emerald Isle. Although I have lived in the UK for almost 10 years now, it has been brought to my attention that I still speak with a lot of ‘Irishisms’ (as my hubby calls them!).
I have often been in a conversation and have people stare in disbelief as I have gone off on a tangent and they have no idea what I am talking about any more (and it’s not just the accent :-)
So, in an effort to break the language barrier, and just for a bit of fun, here are a few of the common ‘Irishisms’ you may hear if you ever travel to Ireland or live / work with Irish people.
